DUI Consequences

Jail time and fines aren't the only ways a DUI conviction affects your life.  Other consequences include:​​

  • Your driver license will be suspended

  • You will be ordered to pay for and obtain a chemical dependency evaluation

  • You will be required take a 12-hour course called Prime for Life and/or get ongoing chemical dependency treatment

  • Insurance rates will go up

  • You could be ordered to have your alcohol use monitored by daily participation in the 24/7 Sobriety Program

  • You might be ordered to put an ignition interlock device on your car

  • Your vehicle could be forfeited

  • For some, employment can be affected

  • Your ability to travel to some foreign countries might be limited
